Summer fashion

As the last traces of suntan finally vanish completely and the woolly mittens come down from the attic, it's hard to remember the vibrant optimism and anticipation of spring. But for those of us that like to stay one step ahead of the fashion game, now is the time to start planning for Spring-Summer 2009. The season's trends are set to be all about accessories and golden bling so read on to find out what's going to be hot when the temperatures start climbing again.

Heads Up
Head gear is set to be to 2009 what that gladiator sandal was to 2008 - that is, the must have item of the summer. Every catwalk from New York to Milan has been positively brimming with hats, headscarves and hair bands so take note if you want to get a-head in the fashion stakes next season. For a fun but subtle adaptation of the catwalk extremes, go for a trilby in a natural tone and tie it in with your outfit using different coloured ribbon trimmings. A great option if you're not quite sure about hats is Topshop's felt trilby, which comes in a variety of bold colours and won't break the bank.

If hats just aren't your thing then go for bright headscarves in the season's hot colours instead. Bright neons, gold or muted natural shades are set to be the themes of the season and headscarves are a great way to subtly add a bit of up-to-the-minute colour to your otherwise monochrome office wear. Having said that, monochrome is also going to be one of the themes of the season so you can even take cutting edge style to the boardroom.

Golden Girls
Gold is sure to be one of the hottest colours of next season, showing up everywhere from dresses and tops to shoes and belts. If you're ready to take this extravagant new trend to the limits, go all out with a glitzy golden gown accessorised with black shoes and clutch bag for a sensational red carpet look.

If you want to add just a touch of bling to your wardrobe then try teaming your favourite little black dress with a gold leather belt and strappy sandals then accentuate the golden tones with shimmery eye shadows and strong, dark lashes. This option is perfect for combining timeless elegance with a modern twist for a formal function or wedding.

Giant Jewels
When it comes to jewellery, next season's maxim is going to be 'the bigger the better'. The models of Marc Jacobs, Christian Lacroix and Marni were all spotted ornamented with outrageously outsized jewellery this year. Earrings, necklaces and brooches are all going to be larger than life, so stock up on chunky wooden earrings or large and elaborate necklaces as soon as this striking new look hits the High Streets.

So now your wardrobe is ready for next season use the winter to play around with the variety of fabulous new styles on the market; just remember not to try to do too much at once. For example, if you're mad about millinery but want to try a large necklace, choose a simple hat and team with an unadorned top or dress for maximum impact. Experimenting with new trends is always great fun and next season looks set to be no exception.

Fashion accessories

Have you ever had one of those days when you looked in the mirror and hated the outfit you were wearing and you didn't know why? It was according to latest fashion trends and still something was missing. You changed several times, hated every outfit and ended up wearing the first one. Not one of your best days. But have you thought about including some fashion accessories to your outfit? Even some small piece of accessory can make a huge difference - it can turn your outfit into a personal statement that expresses who you are at that moment.

So what kinds of fashion accessories are 'in' these days? Definitely bold, oversized necklaces. You can choose from simple metal necklaces of different colours and shapes, to large beaded necklaces to embellished ones. But you're outfit should be simple for necklaces to stand out, as only simple clothes let the necklaces do the talking.

Even men like necklaces as accessory. But I hope that that generation of boys and men who like to wear huge gold or silver necklaces and tracksuit will one day realize how ridiculous they look. What kind of statement is that? - ' I spend all my money on that 'blink' on my neck and now I can't afford proper clothes?'

Other fashion accessories are earrings. In the past they used to be worn strictly by women, but these days they are worn by both sexes. You can get earrings of different sizes, from circular or semi - circular hoops, to studs to extra long earrings.

You can also make quite a statement with rings. Especially big cocktail rings are really 'in' at the moment, as well as bangles. Bangles are made of different materials, such as gold, silver, glass, wood, plastic and women tend to wear them in pairs, sometimes one but usually more on each arm. Or if you prefer bracelets you can choose from different friendship, stretch or charm bracelets. And very popular among teenagers are coloured rubber bracelets.

You can even use different hair accessories to make your outfit personal. You can choose bands and clips of different sizes, from slim to extra wide, as well as different designs and colours.

Other very popular fashion accessories are handbags. I don't know about you but for me it's important that my handbag is practical. Yes, it should be nice and trendy but it should fulfil its purpose. I love big bags, even thought it usually takes me ages to find something in them. You can get handbags in different shapes, sizes, colours, as well as different styles like shoulder bags, cross bags and evening bags.

Most women like to match their handbags with their shoes, especially high heels and sandals. You can choose from different wedge sandals, flat sandals, high heel sandals, Indian sandals and gladiator sandals. Or if you like flip flops, you can choose from printed, plain or leather ones.

So as you can see there are different kinds of fashion accessories. The choice is really big. As long as you're not afraid to play with you outfit, you can make a huge difference to it even with a small piece of accessory.

And remember, fashion accessories are for people of all ages. So you're never tool old to wear that extra piece of accessory that can add that extra something to your outfit.

1980 s fashion

Remember the 1980s? Stadium Rock was the music of the day; Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan made up the dynamic duo on the world's political stage; and pastel colours combined with the "bigness" of fading '70s fads dominated the fashion in the Decade of Excess. Well friends, fashion and cultural trends are cyclical and like it or not, the '80s are back to some degree.

One of the best mediums to witness the resurgence in is fashion, most notably in the realm of t-shirts. The three staples of t-shirts in the '80s were bright colours, clever slogans, and caricatures. The colours began to quiet down with the turn into the '90s, but retailers are once again beginning to showcase neon green and pink, bright safety orange, stunning turquoise-blue, and fire-hot red. The colours that require sunglasses to look at.

Slogans and caricatures are back too. From "choose life" to Run DMC to the Transformers, it seems that anything '80s can be plastered on a t-shirt for you to announce to the world. Even the modern culture has embraced the '80 t-shirt genre, including that hip literary and film phenomenon known as Twilight.

Twilight t-shirts, hoodies, bags, and other accessories are currently a hot item at clothing stores in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Driving the sales is a demographic which includes pre-teens, teens, and young adults enthralled with the story of Bella and Edward from the Twilight novel and film. The plot line and vampire theme are just the sort of things which will easily capture the imagination of younger people.

Much of the Twilight gear sports the customary black colour of the horror film genre, but that hasn't stopped clothing manufactures from slapping "I want to be a vampire" or "I love Edward, for life" on a bright neon-green hoodie. The sight of such a combination of colour and the slightly macabre is not s strange as it sounds. Done tastefully, the two actually complement one another nicely.

For those who prefer officially licensed gear don't worry, you've not been left out in the cold. There is a vast selection of hoodies, tees, bags, and even kitchen aprons boasting the images of Twilight's three main actors: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Cam Gigandet. Specific references to their characters and the plot line are aplenty as well.

For the younger set the t-shirt and hoodie selection is quite modest. All the bright colours are available but thankfully, manufacturers are trying to leave off the more graphic messages and images, preferring instead the seemingly innocuous phrases like "Do I dazzle you?" No need to make the young ones grow up too quickly, eh?

With the announcement of the Twilight sequel in 2008, and the promise of more to come, the marketing engine behind the story is sure to keep it at the forefront of their fan's attention. We might even see Twilight gear still in stores years from now as the '80s die a second death fashion death in favour of something new. Or perhaps, just maybe, the '80s will get bitten by a tracker and they'll emerge to live forever! Oh, let's hope not!

Fashion runway oops

was 30 years old and never modeled before but loved the idea of being a 'big girl' model. I never thought I would be a model, but as I grew older people would say, "You have such a nice face, if you lost a few pounds you could be a model". My first attempt at modeling was a fashion parade where I wore the wrong size dress and my belt fell off (oops) - not an encouraging start! Eventually I got the hang of it and went onto do loads of parades and photo shoots.

Being the only plus-size model in a sea of size 8s I called myself the 'Token Gesture Model'. The other models would strut their stuff on the catwalk and then race behind the scenes for a speedy outfit change. In comparison, my wardrobe options were limited and I was basically thrown to the wolves and told to just get out on the runway and make it back without too much fuss.

I might not have been a priority with the show organizers but my appearances were a crowd pleaser as the 'real people' in the audience excitedly saw a body shape that represented them striding before them. I may have been a lone ranger on the catwalk but their loud applause was rewarding encouragement. After the show ladies would meet me back stage to congratulate me for having the 'guts' to do such a huge thing - remembering that this happened 20 years ago. For ten years I modeled in everything from catwalk spectaculars to in store parades for major department stores such as David Jones and Myer.

After ten years of modeling I decided to I open my own agency catering exclusively to the plus-size modeling industry hence BIGgals Models, now known as BGM, was launched.

Clients contacted us through word of mouth and would-be models applied after reading about the agency in newspapers, magazines and an appearance on prime time television.

BGM was well and truly launched after the fantastic media coverage and ten years later we have gorgeous models that range in age from 16 to 60+ and size 12 to 18+. Our clients are varied and include Avon, Commonwealth Bank, Special K, David Jones, Myer, My Size, Maggie T, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Today Tonight, Australian Women's Weekly and lots more.

BGM does everything from stills photography, catwalk fashion parades, styling fashion parades, television commercials, videos and providing film extras. The property where the agency is located, Tycehurst, has also been the location for many television commercials.

BGM deals with agencies all over the world including London

Asian Fashion Chic

It seems that Asia has a great potential when it comes to the fashion industry; new talented designers and beautiful Asian models take the international catwalks every season. As Asians seem to be obsessed with fashion and shopping, when the economic crisis stroke America and Europe, the luxury-goods retailers turned to the Asian markets.

What is more, anime, manga, computer games and other aspects of Japanese pop culture which are so popular among teenagers have had a great influence on today's fashion trends. European youngsters try to copy the chic Asian look by wearing cute, baggy clothes, glitzy accessories and messed up, fringed hairstyles.

If you want to look like a modern Asian girl, you should wear cute, micro mini dresses and skirts in soft shades of pink or blue, with lace trim and pearl applications; denim shorts paired with fluid white tops or boyfriend jeans worn with a Ladies leather coat are also popular outfits among Asian young girls. Actually, anything is appropriate as long as it makes you look sweet and innocent. One of the most recognizable street fashion trends in Japan is the Lolita style. The cute girls from Harajuku, Shinjuku or Shibuya love to dress up like sweet, gothic, classic and punk Lolitas, each style being characterized by distinctive clothing items, accessories and make-up.

Make-up is especially important if you want to recreate the "cute" Asian chic look. Asian girls usually use very light foundation to make their skin look shiny and youthful. False eye-lashes and contact lenses are also compulsory, as most young girls want to have big, blue eyes. However, many youngsters like to have sun tanned skin or use darker foundation, as a means of expressing their freedom.

Asian girls are also known for their obsession with accessories. They usually wear long, false nails with crystal applications and big necklaces with heart, little bear and kitty cat or ice-cream pendants. Young girls don't like to wear big earrings which make them look mature; they prefer small post earrings instead. Punk kids love piercings and tattoos.

Asian girls' hairstyles range from complicated up-dos to fringed bobs; long, sleek hair extensions are also fashionable especially for sweet Lolitas. Most popular among Asian boys are the swept bangs, the long razor cut or the medium length mullet hairstyles.

If you are looking for a Ladies leather coat then you can be sure that this season's models are absolutely gorgeous.

Traditional Dresses of Pakistan

Dress is the identity of any nation. It is the thing which tells you the nationality of a person without even asking. Every country has its own traditional dress. So is the case with Pakistan. Our traditional dress is the shalwar kameez. This is good for all men, women and children of Pakistan. It is worn and is equally popular in all the provinces, cities and villages of Pakistan. The shalwar kameez holds equal importance in both ceremonial wear and casual wear. Women like to dress up in shalwar kameez most of the time and also during different ceremonies. Same holds true for men and children of the country.

Shalwar is like a loose pajama and is similar to the trousers. It is wide near the thighs and the waist. Near the bottom it is tapering. The kameez is a shirt and the seams of the shirt are kept open. The seams are open normally below waist line. This dress gives you great freedom of movement and is also very easy and simple to wear.

Then another important dress is the achkan. It has been the dress of nobles for long and is now worn extensively in Pakistan on different occasions, mostly ceremonial. It can be referred to as a long jacket. The jacket reaches the knees and there are buttons in the front of the jacket. In some cases it may even go lower than the knees. It also has long sleeves. This dress has been long associated with aristocracy. It is now worn by most desert dwellers in Pakistan.

Kurta is also an important traditional dress item. It is similar to a shirt but is quite loose in fitting. The length of the kurta goes up to the knees of the wearer. It can be worn with either jeans or a shalwar. The Kurta is also worn by women in many western countries. In Pakistan, kurta holds importance amongst both men and women. Different materials can be used to make a kurta and normally it is up to the wishes of the user that what style and material one wants to be used in one's kurta. Men also love to wear waist coats with the kurta and also with shalwar kameez. It gives a very tidy look to the dress.

The Pakistani culture is very rich as far as clothing is concerned. These clothes are famous not only in Pakistan but also in Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh.

The Alexander McQueen Fashion Shows That Transformed the World of Fashion

There are many examples of how Alexander McQueen's fashion ideas both revolutionized and shocked the world of fashion. All of McQueen's fashion shows made a display of extravagance and larger than life productions. In particular, dramatic and fantastical effects on the show were provided by the British designer's strong silhouettes. In a 2000 fashion show, his models looked as they were mental patients imprisoned in a glass covered room. For the audience viewing the show, it gave the impression of being a mental ward. Being a lover of Alfred Hitchcock suspense films, it is believed Alexander McQueen was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock to create this fashion show.

Alexander McQueen created a shipwreck scene for his 2003 spring collection. Two years later, in 2005, a human chess game was made out of his models. In the fall collection of the following year, which was called "Widows of Culloden", Kate Moss was dressed up in waves of fabric. Her image was then captured in a hologram that was shown at the center of the runway. Another 3 years later, in other words in 2009, his fall collection created a heap of scraps out of materials. The latter had earlier been used as props in previous fashion shows, but the props were this time turned into the show's centerpiece. Dressed in black and orange wearing hats that were actually umbrellas, his models also had their faces made up to look like harlequins.

The 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2009 fashion shows are just some of the most famous examples of how Alexander McQueen single-handedly transformed the world of fashion.

How to Create the 80s Punk Fashion Look!

80s punk fashion was influenced greatly by celebrities in the music scene, such as The Ramones, Sex Pistols and Billy Idol. We also loved Vivyan from The Young Ones. This meant punk fashion had a wider, commercial audience.

Starting in the 70s, punk fashion was as a statement of rebellion. Clothes and outfits were personally designed by the individual, to enhance the rebellion statement.

Punk fashion is quite a broad cross section from glam punk to goth punk. Therefore, you should be able to grab a few characteristics from any area relating to 80s punk, and pull off this 80s fancy dress costume easily.

As the girls have heaps of fun choices when it comes to 80s fancy dress, 80s punk fashion, is a fun option for plenty of guys to get into the 80s spirit.

Most notably, you will be able to create a mohawk, spray paint your hair and wear studded belts.

Studs and spike will be the key. Look for these sorts of items when creating your punk look.

Oh yeah, and don't forget the safety pin! Where do you wear the safety pin? Well, as an earring, (Attach to a sleeper or similar - not directly through your ear lobe) or as a badge/accessory anywhere on your clothes. Rip an 80s retro tee shirt, and hold it back together with your safety pin.

* Denim jacket
* Leather jacket
* Ripped 80s tees
* Denim jeans
* Plaid mini skirt
* Plaid pants
* Denim mini skirt
* Doc Martin boots
* Black boots
* Studded belt
* Studded wristband

* Studded or leather fingerless gloves

The good news, is that you can acquire and buy a lot of this gear cheap through the charity shops for the clothes, and online.

There are quite a few awesome 80s costumes, props and gear available for under $10.

Also, I highly recommend for you to browse through my site, via the link below, to get some cool visual ideas.

Deni Griffiths loved growing up in the 80s, and is thrilled to see 80s influences, sneak back into fashion. It has happened steadily over the naughties. As we move into the tweenie teenies, there is evidence in music clips, magazines and movies, that it's cool to have a fun and zany taste in fashion. Some commentators have put this down to the gloom of the financial crisis, and they may be right.

Also, most of you would have heard about 80s themed parties by now. They are very popular, probably due to the really cool music, and fancy dress fun you can have. Are you hosting or attending an 80s fancy dress party?

Fashion Design Sketches

The intense competition in the fashion industry makes it important for any fashion designer to showcase the designs to a larger audience. This can be done by creating fashion sketches and displaying them on the Internet. The sketches give an insight to the fashion fraternity and also to the common audience on the concept behind a particular fashion design. It is a way of communicating the theme to the people associated with the apparel industry. Hence, they are extremely important for any fashion designer.

Fashion sketches are illustrations made by professional artists and designed in a way that they can be easily displayed on the Internet. They portray the true creative genius of the designer. These can be considered a blue print of the final product. The perfection in making sketches is a prerequisite as they serve as the main marketing tool of the fashion professionals. The sketches reflect trends and the value added features of the design. They can also be used to evaluate the various patters used by different designers.

Fashion sketches are important, since they are the preliminary designs that have to be taken to the different apparel manufacturers in the market. The sketches are then used to select the different fabric samples from the wide range on offer.

Computers are increasingly being used for the purpose of making fashion design sketches. Several software are now available that assist the designers in making the drawings. While some still prefer the traditional hand-drawn sketches, others choose to opt for the speed and convenience of computer-aided designing. Hand-drawn sketches can also be fed into the computer with the help of a scanner.

The art of making fashion design sketches is important for creating a niche in the highly competitive fashion industry. Fashion designers can make their presence felt only if their sketches are different and original. Good quality sketches are the only means of establishing a firm foothold in the fashion industry.

Trendy Fashion For Summer 2015

By Greg Pierce
Some of the hottest cuts for the summer of 2015 are figure-flattering, loose or tight fitting dresses which are easy to wear. Neutral shades are also in this summer, with the fresh candy color palette just like the 80s but with more depth. Below are the hottest trends in the fashion runway for the summer of 2010. No matter what your fashion statement is or whatever body size you are in, it does not matter because everyone can be fashionable regardless of age, size or generation.

The following are fabulous this year:

• SKIRTS - Skirts that are in this summer for 2015 are of different lengths and sizes. They are mostly shorter than the usual skirts people wear the rest of the year.

• SHORTS - Shorts had their fame since last year and this fame is still here to stay. Sizes and lengths go from very short to thigh-high, in leopard prints or pin-stripes and from sporty to elegant in design and look.

• DRESSES - The silhouette effect does not lose its fame during summer. A playful, romantic or futuristic design for females is good for summer 2015.

• SHOES - Choosing the proper shoes for the right season is also important. You would not want to wear a boots when going to the beach. Wearing heels during summer is okay. High Heels are great to pair with shorts which give you that sexy and feminine look. Clogs, platforms and pumps give women wearing gowns that down-to-earth look.

• JEWELRY - Necklaces, earrings, bangles and bracelets should be used with caution. You should try to find jewelry that best fits your outfit. Another thing to take note is, as much as possible, try to avoid wearing expensive jewelry when going to beach. Chances are, you might lose them or someone might snatch or steal them from you.

• TEE SHIRTS - Last season, white tee shirts were the craze and they are still great this year. Whole white outfits are in today. For example, a wear white tee shirt paired with white shorts and white shoes or sandals will still look fabulous.

• JACKETS AND BLAZERS - Jackets and blazers are also great to wear this summer for fashion, but wearing them would make you feel uncomfortable because of the warm weather.

Of course, no outfit can look fabulous without accessories. If you just love putting on those fashion thingies to go with your outfits, buy from one of those fashion accessories wholesalers who can give you a wide range of the latest, hottest and the most high-end accessories to add charm to your getup. When you buy wholesale, you'll be buying in bulk which means you can even open your own retail business. Wholesale trend jewelry can be a very promising business prospect if you know how to play your cards right.

Fall Fashion Tips

By Indra Books
As we are writing the October issue of the Go Girl's Ezine, the New York City Fashion Week - Spring 2006 is underway in Bryant Park complete with runway shows and extravagant parties. According to NewYorkMetro.com, the new up and coming designers to watch are Miguel Pena, Doo Ri, Sue Stemp, Sari Gueron and a few more names sure to be seen in the fashion magazines.

Great! So the designers have already set the trends for spring and you aren't decked out for fall yet. Here are a few tips and trends for Fall 2005.

The Uptown Looks are chic with a nice price tag too:
For Men, Prada is the name of the game and for a different label try Burberry London or Calvin Klein Collection for suits. For women, it is silk all the way in 3.1 Philip Lim, Ferragamo, Rochas or Chloe. Add fur and cashmere to warm it up a bit.

Now what are the rest of us going to wear? First of all, find ways to recycle what you already have. If you followed our advice and have classic base pieces, then you should just add some trendy accessories. And in case I really do have to say it. UGGS are CASUAL. They are not the thing this season but if you must keep wearing them, do not pair them with anything more than casual clothes, and we mean CASUAL. Did everybody get that?

Ok so where were we? Yes, the fall trends.

1. Velvet has replaced corduroy as the winter fabric du jour.
2. Belted jackets, sweaters, and pants are in but be careful if you have large hips or bust. You can make yourself look event more top or bottom heavy.
3. Feminine and romantic are the two adjectives of the season (to a point). Ruffles on blouses seem to follow the rule of the bigger the better this season.
4. Vintage is still in and so are peasant skirts, tunics and knee-high boots.
5. Jewelry - chunky with large beads or polished stones or long strings hanging down nearly to the waist.
6. Layering - superlight knits in layers with the bottom layer extending beyond the top.
7. And on this last one, just remember we report on the trends. We don't set them. Fur and hides are back. Leopard prints are out but crocodile is in.

Before you go out and buy everything listed in the fashion magazines, remember it has to be you and it has to fit you. For some reminders, we recommend rereading our article Your Wardrobe: 7 Basic Steps to Success before hitting the pavement.

Oscars 2011 Red Carpet Fashion

By Lizze Leary
The Oscars Academy Awards is the ultimate Red Carpet event of the year - Yes the awards are highly coveted but the fashion at the Oscars 2011 will always outshine the award winners and losers. Anne Hathaway and James Franco co-hosted the Oscars 2011 and the mighty Miss Anne Hathaway had no less than 7 dress changes not including her red carpet look! That's right Anne Hathaway wore 7 dresses to the Oscars 2011!! And for most that would mean the potential to choose 7 bad dresses but we think Anne Hathaway was the fashion star of the Oscars 2011 in all 7 of her dresses. Anne Hathaway stole the show in designs by Tom Ford which she closed the show in, Giorgio Armani Prive, Oscar De La Renta, Vivienne Westwood, Lanvin ( for her effortlessly chic tux) and Givenchy - basically Anne Hathaway's outfit changes were a who's who of designer royalty for the Academy Awards 2011. Take a look at Anne Hathaway in all her Oscar glory and our other favourite Celebs from Michelle Williams in Chanel, Jennifer Lawrence in her specially made dress designed by Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa. Plus, more fashion from the Oscars 2011.

The traditional Anne Hathaway styling for the Oscars 2011 was just divine! It has been reported that stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe was reportedly paid a six figure sum to dress the co-host for this prestigious event - We think it was well worth it as Anne Hathaway looked amazing in all 7 of her Oscar dresses, 8 Oscar dresses including her red carpet look.

Modern styling for the Co-Presenter Anne Hathaway - A step away from her traditional style and we LOVE it!

The general styling on the red carpet appeared to be understated chic - It was classic, within the lines of fashion there were not any ground breaking styles no Lady Gaga OTT dresses and eggs. Its was elegant, sophisticated and refined - everything you would expect from the Academy Awards red carpet.

Florence Welch stunned in a nude Valentino gown that suited the fiery red headed singer perfectly. With its vintage style and nude colourings the understated classic dress was the perfect choice for the Oscars red carpet. Halle Berry wowed the critics in her Marchesa gown with tulle skirt, it was a great choice for the actress and made a nice change from the usual variations of LBD she tends to wear to red carpet events. Hilary Swank looked delectable in her Gucci gown complete with feathers - the colour looked great and complimented the actresses figure and skin tone. These three lovely ladies rocked the red carpet at the Academy Awards in nude palettes.

Scarlett Johansson was well err Scarlett for the Oscars red carpet she wore a super fitted Dolce and Gabanna dress in the prettiest shades of scarlett - the dress looked uber chic and her tousled shorter hair balanced out the straight lines of the dress. Sandra Bullock was a lady in red at the Academy Awards in a gorge Vera Wang gown - the colour is shocking and with the red lippy to boot Sandra Bullock looks a demure style siren. Jennifer Lawrence looked red hot in her red dress made specially for her by Calvin Klein designer Francisci Costa. We don't know about you but were loving the red hot colours of these dresses from the Oscars 2011 - Which star is your fave here?

The hotly anticipated Black Swan star Natalie Portman opted for an off the shoulder dress by Rodarte who designed for Black Swan.

The Black Swan beauty Mila Kunis looked elegantly chic in her Elie Saab gown, the lavender colour of her Oscar dress suited the star perfectly, flowing loose fitting this dress screams confidence and understated beauty - we LOVED it! What do you think to this rather unusual colour for an Oscars dress? Michelle Williams was pixie pretty with her elfin crop beautifully complimented by her silver Chanel Couture gown - Heart her style! Gwyneth Paltrow's clean lined Calvin Klein dress at the Academy Awards has had mixed reviews from the style critics - We like the shiny simplicity of the dress - the style suits the actresses slim physique and is elegant. You wouldn't look back at this dress choice and cringe that's for sure!

Who has been your favourite celebrity at the Oscars 2011 fashion? The biggest Oscars fashion trends were nudes and red dresses - which ones your favourite? The red carpet was awash with designers and the worlds most talented and beautiful and we think their dress choices were the perfect choice for such a prestigious occasion. Let us know what your favourite Academy Award fashion was!

Fashion Bug

By Farah N
The definition of fashion is different as people grow older. Teenagers are usually more fashion oriented then mature people and they adopt it as new trend arrive. Defining the term is difficult task because at this level people have varying opinions but actually the fashion is what best suits you.

The brands set the latest trends in market. Consideration in style brought changes from a cut to fabrics and colors are the important elements in design. Fashion affects all spheres of life from men to women, from child to young working executive class.

Men in the fashion world have a lot of choices from apparel; ranging from shorts, cargo, jeans and tailored suiting. Women's definition on fashion and style starts from formal ware to lounge and swimming ware. Nowadays unusual colors like turquoise are more in than regular one like blue, or black. Pretty pastels, sequined with glamour and little black dress are essential items. A stylized dress is indeed a piece of art and the women wearing it make her queen of hearts.

Teenagers are the most targeted group in fashion industry because they are more style oriented and more conscious of their appearance. They never accept other's opinions. It's no use to give them tip on fashion. They usually find ways by themselves. Denim is all time favorite of teenager, with a bit changes in their tops and jackets make a lot difference in their trendy looks. They are conscious of ever-changing trends and they find themselves what they actually needed to wear as fashion industry has great options for them.

The extension of style is not limited with the garments style line only but also the hair, look, jewelry and shoes. Fashion is for all those bugs who want to look different but in common way. The differentiation is only on basic level.

History Of Fashion Design

By Jennifer Bailey
The realm of fashion design, by its sheer glamour and grace, has always been exciting and intriguing. When we talk of fashion design, it implies a form of art that incorporates the nuances of creating clothes and accessories.

The history of fashion design can be traced back to the beginning of the19th century when the designs were the product of the dresses worn in the royal courts. Eventually, Charles Frederick Worth, the first fashion designer, set up his first fashion house in Paris. His designs greatly influenced the people and they labeled them as the designs of the "House Of Worth." As a result, a designer became synonymous with a particular brand.

Another important designer who made a significant contribution to the evolution of the fashion was Paul Poi Ret. He blended the classical style consisting of aesthetic dressing with Paris fashion. Other important designers of this age were Patou, Vionnet, Fortuny, Lanvin and Chanel.

Throughout the 20th century, Paris remained the world's fashion hub, with countries such as the US and Britain openly aping the French designs. The post World War era saw the emergence of other countries as the centers of fashion and Paris ceased to be the sole influential factor. The rising British fashion industry brought a new range of street fashion focusing mainly on the young consumers.

Later, American designers such as Calvin Klein And Ralph Lauren came to the fore with their sportswear and made it a style statement. Today, fashion designs can be categorized into two main categories. The haute couture is designed for individual customers. The other category is the ready-to-wear collection. While the former is based on certain themes and is more for creating a style statement, the latter is meant for the masses.

The mid-90s saw the emergence of a new breed of designers who redefined traditional concepts. They looked at fashion from a new angle, creating their own new concepts.

Thus, the world of fashion design has witnessed a steady evolution over the years and has been the by-product of the sincere efforts of many of the top designers.
